KL’s newest line is the Sugar-Based Ethanol (KLSBE©) plant design. This process has been designed for operations in Brazil, Guatemala and Suriname.

KL is working in cooperation with ED&F Man Alterna, a fund management company investing in sugarcane assets in the Brazilian market. ED&F Man Alterna is planning to implement both KL CapacitySM and KLSBE© proprietary technology to improve efficiency in operating plants as well as greenfield projects. The first project is likely to be a large-scale ethanol and bio-electricity production delivery arrangement. As an added benefit to the owner, KL can also provide plant management and off-take wholesale and retail ethanol sales agreements through KL’s experienced ethanol marketing staff. KLCBE© designs benefit from the same process efficiencies KL has developed and proven in its KLGBE© designs through process simulation and application.
